I am a bit under the weather

After a terrific conference , Foundations 4 , at the Quinta , I collapsed. On Friday morning I felt very ill and could not get out of bed until 11am. I almost headed home , but thought I could make it to London. On Friday evening I slept for 12 hours and felt as little better , but had no appetite. On Saturday evening I was at a wedding in Faversham. Providentially I showed the bride my right leg and she said I had cellulitis, a serious bacterial infection. This lady is a nurse and she insisted that I see a doctor as soon as possible. Upon  arriving back at Manna House , Dave Stump got me to A & E at a local hospital and the doctor said I had cellulitis. He gave me two doses of a very strong anti-biotic , which I took last night and this morning. I now fell hungry again , my normal condition.

I will get the prescription filled out today and rest the leg. On Monday I just have a lunch appointment, so that will be a light day. On Tuesday I have a SPUC Evangelicals Committee meeting  in Bromham near Bedford. Please pray for my speedy recovery. On Wednesday week I plan to fly to the USA.

Foundations 4 Conference, a good result

Last night I spoke on my many experiences at the UN over the last 18 years. There were many good questions and some lively discussion. Some 22 people have covenanted to pray for me , there may be one future preaching engagement and one person may come with me next year to the UN.

Tomorrow I head down to London for a few meetings.

Tristan McDonald & myself

In the summer I ran into Tristan at a Prayer for Israel conference in London. We both did a 5 minute introduction for our display tables.

I preached in his Church , on the south coast of Britain about 17 years ago.

Now I am sharing a table with him  at this conference for the next few days.

I also met a pastor  whom I met in Israel a few years ago , small world !

Houses of Parliament

Rose and myself

On Monday this week I had lunch with Micheal Leary whom I knew from the Christian Embassy in New York. This very agreeable lunch led to my invitation this morning.

I started the day early by attending a communion service at St. Margaret's church right next to Westminster abbey. Then I was invited to hear Michael talk about his experiences on 911 and how he helped many people effected by that disaster.

We then took the photos opposite where we just had breakfast and listened to Michael's moving address. This was in the Speaker's apartments. I very much liked the fireplace there and considered nicking it as I intend to put a new fireplace in my own house. On mature consideration I calculated that it would not fit into my back pocket so abandoned this project.

After this I spent and very agreeable 30 minutes with Rose Hudson-Wilkin who is the Speaker's Chaplin in parliment.

So my " chance " lunch with Michael led to a very agreeable time. We then went to the cafe in Methodist Central Hall where I had a third breakfast , I might turn into a hobbit soon????

I have a very good meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

Yesterday I got to do a video with George Verwer, next I need to learn how to get it on u-tube.

This was a going away party for David and Judy Stump who have provided excellent hospitality to 5,400 people in the last 9 years here at Manna house in Bromley North , Kent. They are moving back to the USA at the end of this month. I have enjoyed staying at Manna house over the past few years. George has been very kind to let me stay here.

Prayer request

Am in London just now at Bromley North, my usual resdience down here.

From 3 to 5pmtoday there will be a farewell party for David and Judy Stump who run Manna hose .

George Verwer , founder of Operation Mobilisation will be here. I will be trying to get a 5 minute video of George onas to why he is now pro-life.

 Please pray that this will work out.

Will be trying to meet some MPs next week.
