Yesterday there was an excellent exhibition on the life of Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis who was an antiseptic pioneer. He discovered that if doctors washed their hands after dissecting dead bodies then many fewer womenpatients died of puerperal feverwhen thet delivered their babies. His findings were ignored by the medical establishment , just like they deny the harmful effects of abortion today.
