All of my adult life I have wanted to play Santa. After morning devotions here in Manna House this morning with George Vrewer , I was talking to my host Erik. He was having trouble with the Santa costume , so I offered to be a stand in Santa. So I got dressed up , did not need the fake beard and then got this photo with two young ladies. Then headed down to Bromley Church and gave out presents. I tried not to scare the children. I told them I was an Aussie Santa and usually came on a surf board. Some of the pre-preschoolers loved me and a few were terrified. |
I would like to share my experiences at the UN and around the world, concerning my pro-life work.

If you missed my interview last Thursday evening you can watch it on the link below
http://www.revelationtv.com/programmes/episode/speakers-corner228607
I had a very long journey back to Prestwick on Saturday. The train stopped at Preston and after more than an hour we got a bus to Carlyle. When we got there we were met by utter confusion. No trains north. So after an hour or so I went out found a taxi , got a quote of £220 to Glasgow. Rounded up four others willing to stump up £50 and we headed North. It took 14 hours to go from Bromley to Prestwick. Please spare a prayer for the poor flooded out people of Carlyle and the Lake District.

Low fertility conference at the UN
All the Professors at the conference |
On Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning I attended a United Nations Expert Group meeting on Policy Responses to Low fertility. This was the most surreal experience of my 20 years of lobbying at the UN.
The Bible commands us to go forth and multiply and fill the Earth ( Gen1:28 ) . The word of God also says that " Children are a gift from God , Ps. 127. However the world has decided that children are a burden , the world is overpopulated , and that radical femenists want to be just like men. All this equality stuff sounds fine , until you realise that it will lead to extinction of the people groups embracing such an ideology.
The UNFPA has been in the forefront of providing contraceptives , pushing abortion on demand and promoting low fertility. Then yesterday a lady from UNFPA was chairing the meeting on low fertility. She and her organisation are one of the main causes of this fertility decline , she was not there to repent , far from it.
The room was full of professors from many universities , all complaining that all the pro-natalist policies tried around the world have failed. The Netherlands has a higher fertility rate than many countries in Europe at around 1.7 children per woman. Over 60 % of Dutch women who have young children work part time. It is almost impossible for women working full time to have 3 or more children. A Dutch demographer said " Countries get the fertility rate they deserve".
The solution seemed to be a range of policy initiatives to help families , without voicing any policy to get more children , like in the UK. It is very hard to see how that will work.
After 50 years or so of a culture of death , easy divorce , abortion on demand , fake environmental threats , secularization , women working full time what else can you expect but eventual extinction. Demography is destiny. As people turn their backs on God , there are very severe repercussions. It takes time for the curse of these modern apostasies to come into effect. God intended us for growth not stagnation and decline.

Dear friends from across the nations,
Greeting from Israel!
We are excited to invite you to participate in the upcoming L’Chaim International Pro-Life Conference, which Lord willing will take place from 28th October - 4th November 2015. The conference will be at the beautiful location in the Judean hills outside of Jerusalem, surrounded by stunning views of the coastal plain of the Tel Aviv region.
Beginning on the evening of 28th October, we will gather together as Pro-Life leaders, activists and believers in Jesus from the nations and Israel, for a time of in-depth teachings by International and local speakers, educational seminars, discussions, worship led by different Messianic groups and outreach in the locality, with prayer at the heart of the conference.
The theme of L’Chaim 2015 is RESCUE, based of Proverbs 24:11-12, we RESCUE those being led to slaughter as we have been RESCUED by our great saviour Jesus the Messiah. In our present climate when the message of the gospel is being eroded and watered down, it is essential for us to have the death and resurrection of Jesus at the center of our own lives in order for us to be effective in rescuing others.
From Sunday 1st November the conference participants will take a three-day tour focusing on the life of Jesus, starting in the Galilee where Jesus grew up and ministered, followed by key sights in Jerusalem when Jesus taught, died and rose again. Finally we visit key places in the establishment of the faith after the ascension of Jesus into heaven.
Yours in Jesus our Messiah
Be’ad Chaim

35th wedding anniversary
The 11th of October was my 35th wedding anniversary ( Coral ) , but I was down in London working for SPUC . So a week later I took Frances to Dumfries House for a nice dinner at the Woodlands Restaurant , her favorite. And we stayed the night in the Lodge. Am blessed that the Lord gave me a wife that has put up with me for the last 35+ years!

Day of prayer about abortion - 27 October
Please consider supporting Image's day of prayer .
Below is an article by Christine Fidler the CEO of Image in Manchester .
Christine
Fidler
Author Jonathan Jeffes comments, “Christians can be reluctant to engage with the issue of abortion because they do not want to appear judgmental or bigoted, thus a powerful silence has grown up around the subject in the church. Two generations of Christians have grown up with little or no understanding of church tradition or theology in this area. At a recent student event with over 500 in the audience, I asked how many had heard abortion talked about in a Christian context and fewer than 20 hands went up.
“What is not understood is that one in three women in our culture will have an abortion in their lifetime and our churches have many women (and men) who feel trapped by the silence and unable to talk about their past personal experience of abortion. The place they can find themselves is one of real darkness and pain. The silence is unhelpful to them and stops the church from becoming the natural place of healing and reconciliation that it should be.
“My own view of abortion has been formed through leading a post-abortion recovery group in London for over 20 years. People come to us because they have made an unwelcome connection with a past abortion that they are unable to resolve on their own. On the course we help people find and connect with their child lost through the abortion. To those who have not thought about this before, this may sound strange, but it is what brings healing and reconciliation. In the same way that we help individuals make that connection, I believe that by reflecting the experience of those on our courses, our ministry can help society make the same connection which appears to be missing in the worldview of so many - the fact that abortion ends the life of a child.
“This is where the church could begin to make a real impact. ...... If we can start to change the culture of our churches so that women and men who have been through abortion feel welcomed and able to unburden themselves, then perhaps we can start to influence and change the worldview of the surrounding culture.”
Please pray
: that church leaders would be equipped and motivated to present Christian teaching about abortion with truth and compassion,
: that there would be a breaking of the silence that surrounds abortion in the church so that the issue would be more clearly understood by all Christians,
:for those in the church who have been touched by abortion that they would be able to receive forgiveness and healing.

Ulverston - helping the Bells
I have known George and Jan Bell many years through their work for SPUC.
Last year their son David died aged 33 years. I offered to help George with a loft conversion
in David's house , but he had already done it. So I volunteered to help George knock down an old shed and erect two new ones. This took 4 days , but is now complete.

SDGs
From 2000 to 2015 the United Nations had Millennium Development Goals ( MDGs ) .
These goals were what overseas development funding was directed to.
This week and next there will be the final negotiations for the new Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ) . This will guide overseas development funding for the next 15 years.
There will be much debate over abortion and the family , and national sovereignty.
There are pro-life / pro-family NGOs here in New York lobbying on the above values.
Please pray for our success.

Side event at the UN today
Side event 1.15 to 2.30pm Monday 20
July 2015 , conf room 7
Making the SDGs work for women & girls : Why a rights-
based Continuum Care APPROACH IS NEEDED TO IMPROVE WOMEN AND GIRL’S
REPRODUCTIVE Health.
The meeting was hosted by the Mission of Nepal , moderator Susan Alzner UN-NGLS - NY , Ida Klockmann Danish FPA , Santa
Shresthat Beyond Beijing Nepal , Nalini Singh ARROW ( Asia –Pacific Resources
& Research Centre for women).
The handout was a glossy 56 page publication by ARROW called
“ Fulfilling Women’s rights –based continuum of Quality Care for Women’s
reproductive health in South Asia (See above ). This paper is a very clever document . It
quotes UN documents but includes after men and women ( as well as gender
non-conforming people ). Also they claim that Reproductive Rights include the
right to safe , legal and accessible abortion services. Their reference is one
of their own publications. They aslo claim a lot of rubbish under Sexual
Rights.
This was the usual pro-abortion presentation that you would
expect at the UN. There was , to be fair , some good stuff on nutrition , clean
water , basic medical care which was quite good. One attendee even worked in a
fistula hospital.
Of interest was one slide which is difference from usual, the
Lady representing ARROW said :
Safe
abortion and CQC
“One third
of all maternal deaths are due to hemorrhage , infection , and poisoning by
unsafe abortion.
Legalisation
of abortion is a necessary but an insufficient step towards improving women’s
health , especially when effective infrastructure , personnel , ancillary
services and adequate budget are not in place.”
Another slide from their presentation:
Safe
abortion in Nepal
Safe
abortion is legalized in 2002
“Despite the
law , however unsafe abortion in Nepal continues to take place. Women keep on
dying or suffering lifelong morbidities resulting from unsafe abortion.
There was also a lot of talk about Comprehensive Sexuality
education , how this will fix everything for women.”
There was a complaint about Pakistan , Here women are
conditioned by patriarchal attitudes , hospitals deny services to unmarried
girls .
The Pathetic UN
I was first into Room 1 this morning at 8.50am |
Here we are in the overflow room.I was in conference room 1 before 9am. At 10.10am I was thrown out of this room . The UN Secretariat had forgotten to allocate UNDP with a seat so they took mine. The UN could not organize a booze up in a brewery. |
